Then Bank is looking for three new Non-Executive Directors who can bring fresh perspective, sound judgement and constructive challenge to the Bank’s Board as it enters its next stage of development.

Since launch, the Bank has committed £1.2 billion to the Scottish economy through long-term, patient investment, supporting businesses and projects across its three missions: innovation, place and net zero.

Unique position 

The Bank, which occupies a unique position as Scotland’s development bank, invests commercially to help build a stronger, fairer and more sustainable Scotland. So far investments have reached around 325,000 people, supported the build of 1,000 new homes and helped support 3,330 jobs - showing the positive impact long-term investment can have for people, businesses and communities across Scotland.

The Bank welcomes applications from people from all walks of life and we are keen to hear from those who can bring different experiences, fresh thinking and new perspectives.

Applying 

Applications close on 3 July. Shortlisted applicants can expect to hear back by 27 July, with interviews taking place on 4, 12 and 14 August at the Bank’s Waverley Gate office in Edinburgh. Successful applicants will begin in September and November 2026.
