Our equality commitments

The Bank is committed to equality for all and being a fully inclusive employer, with the ambition to have a diverse team made up of complementary skills and experiences.

With a deep commitment to addressing Scotland's most pressing challenges - we recognise the importance of a diverse team in driving innovative solutions and having the best ideas.  Our culture emphasises fairness and inclusivity. This is why we are keen to hear from individuals who are passionate about making a difference, even if they feel they do not meet all our role requirements.

Our inclusive approach not only enhances our workplace but also extends to our investment practices and partnerships, ensuring a fairer, more prosperous Scotland.

Disabilities

We are fully committed to being a Disability Confident Employer and are open and supportive to individuals with different needs due to a disability or long-term illness.

Flexible working

We offer a variety of flexible working options, from job sharing to parental leave, full-time/part-time options and compressed hours. Everyone can request a specific arrangement from day one of employment, and you can flex and change it throughout your career with us.

Our hybrid working guidance supports individuals with the option to work from home, balanced with time spent in the office, attending meetings off-site, and similar engagements. Working patterns can be agreed upon based on the needs of the role, the business, the individual, and the team.

Experiences

"I've worked a compressed nine day fortnight pattern since my first child was born. It has given me an extra day every two weeks to spend with them - now that we have two wee ones that time is even more appreciated! As a parent to young children it makes a difference to have an encouraging employer."
Graham Watson | Head of Public and Government Partnerships

"Changes in my personal life led me to needing to spend more time at home. The support I have had from my colleagues and the Board to achieve this through a job-share arrangement, makes me feel very proud to be part of an open-minded and progressive organisation."
Kay Smith | Chief People Officer
