Meet the team

David Ritchie was appointed as Executive Director, Head of Partnerships & Engagement of the Bank in June 2020 and is responsible for oversight and leadership of the Bank’s external engagement function, including policy, communications and marketing.

David is also a board member of Scottish Investments Limited, the investment arm of the Bank.  An economist by training, before joining the Bank, David was employed by the Scottish Government in a number of roles including Head of the Energy Industries, Head of the Hydrocarbons Division and Head of the Oil & Gas Policy Unit. He also undertook Economic Adviser, Senior Economist and Head of Policy Unit roles and was the principal policy adviser to the First Minister and Minister for Energy.
