Meet the team

David Ritchie was appointed to the new role of Chief Strategy Officer at the Bank in October 2024. David was one of the first employees of the Bank, joining in June 2020 as Head of Partnerships & Engagement. 

David is also a board member of Scottish Investments Limited, the investment arm of the Bank.  An economist by training, before joining the Bank, David was employed by the Scottish Government in a number of roles including Head of the Energy Industries, Head of the Hydrocarbons Division and Head of the Oil & Gas Policy Unit. He also undertook Economic Adviser, Senior Economist and Head of Policy Unit roles and was the principal policy adviser to the First Minister and Minister for Energy.
