Bank Investee Highland Broadband Networks has been working to double its Inverness workforce to nearly 50 employees, as they continue to expand their full-fibre broadband network across Scotland.
Recruitment is mostly complete, with only five outstanding vacancies in the customer service team. These new opportunities across the technical and customer facing areas of the business and will be pivotal in supporting the firm’s next phase of growth.
Highland Broadband partnered with Inverness-based Global Highland on its recruitment campaign to attract new talent from across the region. All roles include full training, helping people develop the skills needed to build long-term careers with the company.
Committed to local employment
The firm continues to demonstrate a strong commitment to local employment, with 98% of its workforce living in Scotland and more than half of employees based in the Highlands. Its customer service and technical support team facilities operate from Inverness, to ensure customers are supported by local staff.
Alongside growing staff numbers, Highland Broadband is accelerating its rollout across rural Scotland. Already connecting more than 50% of rural communities in the Highlands, the company plans to bring ultrafast broadband connectivity to more than 150 towns and villages over the coming year.
The Bank’s £60 million investment directly supports the delivery of digital infrastructure that’s helping to tackle connectivity issues in rural communities and small towns across Scotland. Crucially, these changes are making real impact in rural areas that have historically experienced limited access to ultrafast broadband services.
